Diabetic education

Diabetes is a condition in which the body does not use glucose (sugar) from food properly. Your body needs insulin to convert sugar, starches, and other food into energy. Insulin is a hormone produced in an organ called the pancreas. When you have diabetes , your body is either not producing or using the insulin properly. Once you have diabetes, it does not go away. However, it can be controlled through meal planning, exercise, blood sugar monitoring, stress management, and medications if needed.
